What businesses in Nepal use QR codes for

QR codes have quietly become part of daily business in Nepal — everyone already scans them for payment (eSewa, Khalti, FonePay), so pointing that same habit at your marketing is free real estate. The QR codes this free generator makes are static: they encode your link directly, never expire, and need no subscription.

How to make a QR code that actually scans in print

Three rules cover 95% of scanning failures. Size:print at least 2 × 2 cm for arm's-length scanning; bigger if it hangs on a wall. Contrast: dark code on a light background — never light-on-dark or low-contrast brand colors (test with the color pickers above). Quiet zone:leave clear space around the code; don't crowd it with text or crop it tight. And always test-scan the final printed piece, not just the screen. Designing the flyer, menu or visiting card the code sits on is exactly what my graphic design service in Nepal does — brand- consistent print and social designs with the QR built in.

Where should your QR code send people?

The QR code is only as good as the page it opens. Sending customers to a slow, non-mobile site wastes the scan — check yours with the Website Speed Checkerfirst. No website yet? A QR code pointing at a fast one-page site beats a Facebook page you don't control: that's what I build as a web developer in Nepal. For campaign posters, add tracking with the UTM Link Builder so you can see exactly how many people scanned.

A QR code needs a destination worth scanning.

I design the print materials your QR sits on and build the fast, mobile-first website it opens — menus, landing pages, booking forms. Based in Nepal, working worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

+Are QR codes from this generator free forever?

Yes. This tool creates static QR codes — your link is encoded directly into the pattern, so there's no account, no subscription and no expiry. The code keeps working as long as the URL it points to exists.

+Do QR codes expire?

Static QR codes (like the ones this tool makes) never expire. Dynamic QR codes from paid services route through the provider's server and stop working if you cancel the subscription — which is why many businesses get burned. For most uses, static is the safer choice.

+What is the minimum print size for a QR code?

2 × 2 cm (about 0.8 × 0.8 inches) for close-range scanning like menus and visiting cards. For posters scanned from a distance, use the 10:1 rule — the code should be at least one-tenth of the scanning distance, so a code scanned from 1 metre should be 10 cm wide.

+Can I use my brand colors in a QR code?

Yes — this generator lets you set both the code and background colors. Keep strong contrast (dark code on light background), avoid inverting the colors, and always test-scan before printing. Very light colors like yellow or pastel shades often fail to scan.

+Can a QR code open WhatsApp directly?

Yes. Use a wa.me link — for example https://wa.me/9779812345678 with your number in international format — and generate the code from it. Scanning opens a WhatsApp chat with you, which is one of the highest-converting things a Nepali business can put on print materials.
