Need content that ranks, not just counts?
Explore AI Content CreationHow long should your content be? (real numbers)
There's no magic word count that ranks — Google rewards content that answers the query better than competitors. But length correlates with depth, and different formats have practical sweet spots. Use the counter above to hit them, and the keyword table to make sure you're actually covering your topic instead of repeating filler.
| Content type | Practical range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Blog post / guide | 1,200–2,500 words | Long enough to answer the topic fully — top-ranking guides average 1,400+ words. |
| Service / landing page | 600–1,200 words | Every section should push toward the call-to-action. |
| Product description | 150–400 words | Unique per product — never copy the manufacturer's text. |
| Meta description | 110–160 characters | Check it in my meta tag generator's live preview. |
| YouTube script | ~130 words per minute | The speaking-time stat above maps script length to video length. |
Keyword density: what it is and how to use the table above
The keyword table shows your most-used words and two-word phrases. Your main topic should appear naturally near the top — if it's missing, the page probably doesn't signal its subject clearly; if one phrase dominates far above everything else, it reads as keyword stuffing, which hurts more than it helps. Aim for your topic plus natural variations. Writing content that ranks is half structure, half expertise — I cover both in my SEO service and produce content at scale with my AI content creation service.
Reading time, speaking time and why they matter
Reading time (calculated at ~200 words per minute) tells you what you're asking of a visitor — a "12 min read" landing page loses people, while a thin 300-word "guide" loses trust. Speaking time (~130 wpm) is the script planner's number: a 60-second reel holds roughly 130 words, a 10-minute YouTube video roughly 1,300. If you're scripting videos, that's exactly what my video editing service in Nepal turns into finished reels, ads and YouTube content.
Counting words is easy. Writing words that sell isn't.
I write and structure website content that ranks on Google and converts visitors — as part of web development, SEO and AI content services from Nepal.
Frequently asked questions
+Does word count affect SEO rankings?
Not directly — Google has said there's no ideal word count. But thorough content that fully answers a query tends to be longer, and studies consistently show top-ranking pages average 1,400+ words. Write as much as the topic needs and no more.
+How is reading time calculated?
This tool uses 200 words per minute, the average adult silent-reading speed for online content. Medium and most publishing platforms use a similar figure. Speaking time uses 130 words per minute, the typical pace for presentations and video narration.
+What is a good keyword density?
There's no official percentage — Google's guidance is simply to write naturally. As a sanity check, your main keyword appearing in roughly 0.5–2% of the text is normal; if one phrase is dramatically over-represented, it will read as stuffing to both users and search engines.
+How many words is a 60-second video script?
About 120–140 words at a natural speaking pace. A 30-second ad is roughly 65–75 words, and a 10-minute YouTube video needs around 1,300 words of script. Paste your script above and the speaking-time stat does the math.
+Is my text stored anywhere when I use this counter?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser as you type — the text is never uploaded, stored or sent to any server. You can even use the tool offline once the page has loaded.
