Quick answer: in Nepal, a professional logo costs NPR 5,000–50,000+ and a complete brand identity package NPR 25,000–1,50,000, depending on the designer's experience and how much strategy is behind the visuals. The real difference between price levels isn't prettiness — it's whether you receive a strategic, ownable identity with proper files, or a single JPG you'll pay to fix later. Here's how the process, pricing and deliverables actually work.

I'm Aryan Pariyar — I run a graphic design service in Nepal alongside web development, which gives me an unusual vantage point: I see what happens to logos after delivery, when they have to live on websites, social feeds, print and packaging. A lot of expensive logos fail there; this guide is about making sure yours doesn't.

The 5-step process a real brand identity goes through

1. Discovery and research

Who are you, who are your customers, who are your competitors, and what should someone feel in the two seconds they see your mark? Skipping this step is what separates decoration from design — a Pokhara trekking brand and a Kathmandu fintech should never come out of the same visual thinking.

2. Concepts

Two to four genuinely different directions (not one idea in four colors). Modern workflows — including mine — use AI exploration to cover more ground faster, then human judgement to pick and refine what's ownable and appropriate.

3. Refinement and color

The chosen direction gets refined: proportions, spacing, and a color system that works everywhere. Colors carry meaning — if you're curious how palettes are chosen, my free Color Palette Generator page explains the 60-30-10 rule and color psychology, and lets you experiment yourself.

4. The full system

A logo becomes an identity when it's systematized: light/dark versions, minimum sizes, typography pairing, and templates for the places it will actually live — social profiles, business cards (a branded QR code on the card is a nice touch), letterheads, signage.

5. Delivery — the part where cheap options fail

You must receive: vector source files (SVG + AI/EPS), PNG exports with transparent backgrounds, color/white/black versions, exact color codes, and a simple usage guide. Vector files are non-negotiable — every printer and signmaker will ask for them, and if your designer won't hand them over, you don't own your own logo.

Your identity is judged where customers meet it — and today that's mostly your website and social feeds. A premium logo on a slow, dated website reads as a contradiction; consistency is the entire trick. That's why I design identities and build the websites that carry them as one continuous system: same colors, same type, same feel from Instagram post to invoice. (It's also why this site's palette, favicon and social cards all match — the system is the brand.) If your current site doesn't reflect your brand, that's fixable — see my website cost guide for what a rebuild involves.

Red flags when hiring a designer in Nepal

  • No portfolio of real, in-use work — mockups only. Check my portfolio for identities living on real businesses.
  • One concept, take it or leave it — you're buying their first idea, not their best.
  • No vector files, or source files cost "extra" after delivery.
  • No questions about your business — a designer who starts drawing before asking is decorating, not designing.
  • Reverse-image-search fails — run the delivered logo through a reverse image search; template resellers get caught here constantly.

Frequently asked questions

How much should a small business in Nepal spend on branding?

For most small businesses, NPR 15,000–40,000 buys a properly designed logo plus the essential kit (colors, type, social templates, files). Spend more only when your market is brand-sensitive — hospitality, fashion, premium services.

Logo first or website first?

Logo and core identity first, website immediately after — the site is designed from the identity. Doing both with one provider keeps them consistent and usually cheaper than two handoffs.

Can you redesign my existing logo without losing recognition?

Yes — that's a refresh: keeping the recognizable equity (mark shape, core color) while modernizing execution. It's often the right call for businesses with years of goodwill in an outdated mark.

What about social media templates?

They're the highest-use item in the whole package — most brands touch their logo files rarely but post daily. Insist on editable templates sized for the platforms you actually use.

How do I start?

Tell me about your business — what you do, who buys from you, and what feeling the brand should carry. You'll get a scoped proposal with a fixed price within 24 hours, and a free consultation either way. The full service is described on my graphic design in Nepal page.

A logo is the cheapest employee you'll ever hire — it introduces your business thousands of times a day without a salary. Pay it accordingly, once, properly. Let's design yours.
